IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013, held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from November 18 to 22, marked a record year for the event.

IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013, the largest trade show for the global attractions, which ran from November 18 to 22 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, hosted around 28,800 professionals in the amusement park and attractions industry from 110 countries. 18,100 buyers including executives from family entertainment centres (FECs), amusement parks, zoos, resorts, waterparks, and roadside attractions who attended the trade show had the opportunity to shop for new products and solutions on the largest floor in 10 years. The event marked the close of a record-breaking year with over 43,000 people participating in IAAPA’s events across the globe: the IAAPA Attractions Expo, the Euro Attractions Show, and the Asian Attractions Expo.

1,800 visitors attended the Kickoff Event, the official opening session of the event, to see new attractions presented around the world this year, to preview the ones to be launched in 2014, and to get an update on the state of the industry.

This year’s IAAPA Attractions Expo hosted 1,098 companies that presented their latest products and services, with the indoor exhibit space completely sold out. The event featured 80 education programs with 11,200 participants, which was a 10 percent increase over the previous year. The programs included panels, roundtable discussions, and behind-the-scenes tours.

Attractions Expo visitors raised $115,000 for Give Kids the World, a resort for children with life-threatening illnesses located in Kissimmee, Florida, with a motorcycle ride, a golf tournament, a fun run and walk, and donations.

Paul Noland, IAAPA President and CEO, said, “There was a palpable energy throughout IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013. Business is clearly booming. The week was filled with big project announcements, exciting ride reveals, contracts being signed, and education sessions overflowing with attractions professionals.”

IAAPA Attractions Expo will return to the Orange County Convention Center from November 17 to 21, 2014.
