Blast Golf Combines Full Swing Metrics with Smart Video Capture

Blast Motion has introduced full swing golf metrics and smart video capture with Blast Golf, a new solution that goes beyond basic golf swing analysis.

Blast Golf, the latest sports motion capture solution from Blast Motion, combines full swing driving and putting with smart video capture, delivering motion metrics to golfers in real time. Launched earlier this month, the innovative solution automatically captures video highlights of each swing and delivers it to users along with their performance metrics. Golfers can immediately share the data through email and social media.

Blast Golf uses a sensor and an app to deliver real-time analytics of each golf swing to the user's smartphone. The Blast Precision Motion Sensor attaches to any regulation driver or putter and connects to mobile devices and tablets via Bluetooth Smart. The sensor discretely collects swing data without interrupting users and lets them see and analyse the mechanics of their swings. Golfers can track their swings and strokes instantly and store them into their personal history. The sensor weighs less than half an ounce and charges wirelessly in 1.5 hours.

Blast Motion uses wearable motion capture technologies to create innovative solutions and redefine the digital experience for users. The California-based developer combines real-time motion metrics with video highlights to deliver a richer experience for users and provide them with accurate data to improve their performance.

Blast Golf is available from iTunes as a free app update for all Blast Putt users, while Blast Golf can be purchased from Blast Motion's website and select retailers for $149.95. The Blast Putt app, released in March, uses Blast's Precision Motion Sensor to provide golfers with a detailed insight into their putting stroke. The sensor can be attached to almost any putter grip and it transmits accurate data and analytics to the user's iPhone or iPad while they practice or play.

Blast Golf, an upgrade from Blast Putt, can intelligently track metrics including swing speed, loft and lie, and it allows golfers to identify trends through various graphs and stats.

The Blast Golf app can be used with iPhone 5 and newer, iPad 3, iPad Mini 2 and newer, and iPod Touch 5th generation.
