ShotTracker is a new wearable basketball trainer that tracks players' shooting motion and detects errors in their game.

ShotTracker, a new wearable platform for basketball players, uses a sophisticated sensor to track shooting motion and provides players with shot statistics and analysis. The system tracks players' shooting success and pinpoints their strengths and weaknesses, providing them with key data to improve their game.

ShotTracker has three components: a net sensor, a wrist sensor, and the ShotTracker App. The net sensor is weather-proof and built to withstand any shot. It can be attached to any net and runs on a rechargeable battery. The sensor has an auto sleep function and stays in sleep mode until the user starts shooting.

The lightweight wrist sensor weighs only 0.347 ounces. It slides easily into the player's sleeve or wrist band and is imperceptible while the player trains. The wrist sensor is water resistant and uses a 6-axis motion processor to track the player's shot attempts and shooting motion. As an alternative to the wrist band, players can use a lightweight shooting sleeve to attach the wrist sensor.

Every time the user attempts a shot, the wrist sensor sends a signal, alerting the net sensor of the incoming shot, and the net sensor indicates if the user made or missed the shot. Both sensors send signals to the user's mobile device, and the ShotTracker App keeps track of all the user's shooting stats.

The app collects and analyses all the data sent by the sensors. It documents every shot attempt, archives shooting percentages, and compiles a shot map. The ShotTracker App acts as a basketball coach, offering personalised training drills to help players work on areas that need improvement. The app can also be used by coaches to assign different workouts to players, monitor their progress to get objective data on the best starting five, and see which players need more drills and exercises. The app can also provide coaches with an insight into the amount of time and effort players are putting into their training and development.
