Dutch motion tracking leader Xsens has launched the new MVN Biomech, a wearable 3D tracking solution that offers real-time kinematics and accurate data for body movement analysis.

Xsens has launched the third generation of the MVN Biomech, a full-body measurement system that combines inertial sensors, biomechanical models and sensor fusion algorithms to measure 3D kinematics and offer advanced movement and gait analysis. The system is lightweight, comfortable to wear and easy to set up. It is available as a full-body suit or a strap-based system, and offers medical professionals, sports coaches, industrial designers and researchers an accessible tool to study human body movement in 3D detail.

Xsens uses tiny motion trackers that can capture both the smallest twitches and high dynamic movements, while the software can turn the measured data into graphs and visualise any parameter. The new system offers the highest quality motion analysis in any environment. It provides users with accurate human motion measurements and can be used to create 3D kinematic graphs or 3D visualisations instantly. The applications of MVN Biomech range from virtual reality and human machine interaction to sports science and rehabilitation research.

Xsens is an award-winning company specialising in creating innovative 3D motion tracking products and technologies for professional use with a focus on three business segments: human motion measurement, 3D character animation and inertial sensor modules. The company's sensor fusion technologies have a wide range of applications, including sports, health, robotics, virtual reality, marine industry, industrial control and stabilization, and unmanned aerial vehicles. One of the company's products was even launched into space last year to help astronauts analyse their workouts. The ForceShoe force measuring shoes were selected by NASA to support research and measure forces while astronauts onboard the International Space Station (ISS) conduct their resistive exercise routines.
