Zepp Sensor Captures Baseball Swings in 3D

The Zepp Sensor, created by Zepp Labs, delivers 3D motion technology to mobile devices, allowing baseball players to analyse their swings from any angle.

The Zepp Sensor and baseball bat mount are designed to capture and measure users' swings in three dimensions without interrupting their game. The tiny sensor weighs only 6 grams and records 1,000 data points per second to deliver a complete 360° analysis of each swing. All users need to do is attach the sensor to the bat mount, which weighs 13 grams, and connect via Bluetooth to save their swings wirelessly to their Android device and analyse their performance later.

The sensor is the first device that allows players to see their swings in 3D from any angle and get instant data that helps them improve their performance. The data the sensor delivers includes bat speed, hand speed, impact angles, swing plane, and time to impact.

Players can also tag their hit results to pinpoint the characteristics of a successful swing and then use the data to set new goals. They can replay their swings and analyse them from any angle to see what they do well and what needs more practice.

The Zepp Sensor allows users to compare two swings to see how their clubs or hand paths line up, and they can also compare their swings with their friends or teammates. They can access a complete history of all their swings at any point to discover their trends and get detailed reports about each batting practice. The app lets them store as many swings as they want.

In August, Zepp Labs partnered with Perfect Game, the world's largest baseball scouting service, to become the Official Swing Analysis Platform for Perfect Game. The exclusive partnership will serve to further the development of the most talented amateur baseball players across the United States.
