The 50th EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes) Annual Meeting will be held in Vienna from September 15 to 19, 2014.

The European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) has scheduled the 2014 EASD Annual Meeting to run from September 15 to 19 at the Messe Wien Exhibition and Congress Centre in Vienna, Austria.

The EASD Annual Meeting is held in a different European city every year and features high quality presentations of scientific research and studies on diabetes. The list of speakers will be announced 6 to 8 weeks before the event.

Founded in Montecatini in Italy in 1965, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes is a meeting place for physicians, researchers, hospital staff and students who are interested in the study of diabetes and related subjects. The association is run by a Council and an Executive Committee chaired by the President. It has over 7,000 active members in more than 100 countries, who all hold medical or scientific degrees. In 1999, the EASD created the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) to increase its commitment to diabetes research. EASD also publishes a monthly journal, Diabetologia, which features the latest news and studies related to diabetes.

The EASD also plays an active role in attracting new talent to diabetes research, and holds an annual EASD Scientists Training Course and a Robert Turner Clinical Research Course in different locations across the world.
