Med-Fit Systems has introduced the new Korebalance Kompact, the latest rehabilitation and balance system in the company’s Korebalance line.

Med-Fit Systems, a medical and commercial fitness equipment manufacturer, has introduced the new Korebalance Kompact system, the latest product in the Korebalance line. The Korebalance Kompact is a portable balance trainer and assessment tool that can store more than a million patients’ data. The device provides multiple mazes designed for neurosensory and orthopaedic rehabilitation, physical therapy and balance training programs. The Korebalance Kompact can also be used with the Nautilus Concussion Management Program, a comprehensive training and baseline assessment program that helps with conditioning, strengthening, and post-injury assessment. The program is designed for rehabilitation and sports training, as it implements a range of procedures for professional athletes at risk for concussions.

The Korebalance Kompact has a static and dynamic mode, provides a 20-degree vertical range of movement and a 360-degree horizontal range. The device consists of a platform, variable air pressure gauge, hand pump, tilt sensor, and desktop computer with 17-inch LCD touchscreen display and pre-installed software. It has a patient weight capacity of 500 lbs. Optional equipment includes a tailored-to-fit walker for added stability.

The Korebalance Kompact system uses a central balance platform that provides variable stability. The platform operates with an air pressure bladder system which is controlled by a hand held pump. The KATwin software, which comes with the system, creates a wide range of exercise and training programs to improve balance, coordination, posture and stability. The software also provides balance assessment, making the system particularly useful in medical centres, physical therapists’ offices, and rehabilitation facilities. The Korebalance Kompact is also suitable for use in assisted living facilities, health clubs, gyms and fitness clubs. The system can be used by professional athletes and sports teams as it provides static and dynamic balance training and assessment, and five mazes for extreme balance training. The device also automatically stores test data with progress reports which can be analysed by trainers and physical therapists.

The Korebalance Kompact provides trainers and users with real-time visual feedback and printed colour reports which can be used to track the users’ progress over time. The device is also a good tool for fall prevention exercise, which it facilitates, and has a proven track record in assisting with a variety of disorders, from orthopaedic deficiencies to neurosensory problems.
