CycleOps is running a contest encouraging cyclists to record and submit their favourite training routes for a chance to win prizes.

CycleOps has launched a contest that encourages cyclists to record their favourite outdoor training routes for the CycleOps Virtual Training system and submit them by the end of July for a chance to win gear and other prizes.

Starting June 16, anyone over the age of 18 can submit routes for a chance to win. The Grand Prize is a Trek Travel trip for two, which will give the winner an opportunity to ride through the California Wine Country or discover the classic climbs of the Alps. The second prize is a 2014 Salsa Warbird 2 complete bike, while the winner of the third prize will get six months of Premium level coaching from Carmichael Training Systems (CTS). All entries are eligible to win one of 10 CycleOps Virtual Training prize kits, and weekly gear prizes will be awarded at random. The prize kits include a CycleOps Fluid2 trainer with the included CycleOps Speed/Cadence sensor.

The winners will be selected by staff of Saris Cycling Group (promoter) based on the quality of the videos submitted, GPS and video sync quality, realistic reproducibility on a virtual trainer, and uniqueness and beauty of the location.

All the courses submitted for the contest must include video and GPS data of the route synced and shared to the CycleOps Virtual Training database. The routes must be at least 10 kilometres long. Cyclists interested in submitting routes do not need a CycleOps Virtual Training subscription. They can simply download the CycleOps Virtual Training software, record the video and GPS data, use the PC version of the route creation tool to sync the video with the GPS data, and upload the route to the CycleOps Virtual Training database.

The contest runs through July 31. Find the full details at cycleops.com/en/cycleops-cvt-contest.
