Sega released a new arcade game, Sonic Athletics, at the Tokyo Joypolis amusement park on April 25. The first footage of the game was released on YouTube today.
Sonic Athletics uses a line of eight treadmills set in front of large vertical screens displaying a track stadium. The faster the players run on the treadmills, the faster their characters run on the screen, and the first player to reach the finish line is the winner. Designed for fans of Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise, Sonic Athletics is pretty simple and straightforward, and the arcade system is visually fetching and makes a fine game attraction at the Joypolis. Watch the video to see the system at play.
