Garmin's #StepMore campaign challenged users of Vivofit and Vivosmart fitness trackers to step up their daily activity for 21 days.

Garmin's #StepMore campaign challenged users to increase their daily activity level for 21 days leading up to November 10. The company launched the challenge in October, asking users of Vivofit and Vivofit activity trackers to complete at least one challenge a week and share a photo on Instagram to be eligible to win the weekly prize, a $500 gift card for a new workout wardrobe.

Garmin Vivofit and Vivosmart allow users to monitor their steps, distance, calories, time and heart rate throughout the day, and to wirelessly sync with the company's online fitness community, Garmin Connect, to track their progress over time, join challenges, connect and compete with their friends, and earn virtual badges for motivation. Both trackers follow the wearer's progress 24/7, can tell him/her when it's time to move after a period of inactivity, and offer sleep tracking. Vivosmart even works as an alarm clock, quietly vibrating to wake up the wearer without disturbing anyone else in the room.

Vivosmart also allows wearers to receive mobile notifications to alert them when they receive a text message or an email. The device can play music from the user's phone and can skip tracks, allowing users to keep working out without having to reach for their phone. If the tracker is within 20 metres of the phone, it can even help the user find it.

Both trackers are very light and have solid battery life. Vivofit uses coin cells that can be replaced once a year, while Vivosmart, which needs more power for the extra mobile connectivity, needs to be charged once a week.
