Garmin has launched the Garmin Forerunner 920XT, a new multisport GPS watch that records detailed metrics for running, cycling, and swimming.

The Forerunner 920XT is Garmin's most advanced solution for triathlon training to date. It is lighter, thinner and more comfortable than the previous model.

The watch comes with a number of advanced features, including running dynamics, live tracking, VO2 max estimate1, and smart notifications. Users can wear it all day to track their activity, monitor steps and calories, and stay connected. The daily tracking features include a countdown to a personalised daily goal, sleep tracking, and sound alerts after one hour of inactivity.

The new GPS watch offers advanced metrics for training in water and makes it easy for swimmers to log their drills and record distance, stroke type, pace, stroke count and SWOLF score. Cyclists get an altimeter for precise ascent and descent data, while runners benefit from the advanced running dynamics when they use the watch with the HRM-Run monitor. The new Forerunner offers data on cadence, vertical oscillation, and ground contact time.

Additional applications and features will be available in 2015, when Garmin releases a software update that will make the Forerunner compatible with Connect IQ.
