The Australian fitness centre Versus Fitness uses advanced motion tracking to provide an addictive, challenging workout experience for people of all ages.

Versus Fitness is a fitness centre in Moorabbin, Victoria, that uses revolutionary motion tracking technology to make workout sessions more engaging for users by tracking and scoring their workouts. The group training sessions help users achieve results that exceed even their own expectations. The motion tracking technology ensures proper technique and safety, while also making sure that users are exercising with weights suitable to their fitness level.

The Versus centre combines fitness with gaming, allowing users to challenge their friends or compete against their own personal best scores. After a workout session, users can check their scores and results via the Versus iPhone app or website. The data lets them monitor their progress over time and motivates them to reach their personal fitness goals. Users can also share their scores with their friends on Twitter and Facebook.

Versus offers workout options for users of any skill and fitness level, from those who are completely new to exercise to professional athletes. The centre's goal is to motivate as many people – young and old – to replace their sedentary habits with a fun, healthy exercise program that can dramatically improve their fitness level. The levels range from 1.0 for beginners to 4.0 for elite athletes and all the workouts are interval-based. Sessions typically consist of 45-minute workouts, along with 5-10 minutes of warmup and cool down sessions. Kids' workouts focus on making exercise fun, and are mostly based on cardio and body weight exercises.

Beginner level workouts focus on proper technique and improving users' personal best in each session. Once users get to Level 2, they can choose to either continue improving their personal score or have their results displayed on a leaderboard screen to see how they compare against others. The centre also offers a team mode, used in children's sessions, and some programs for adults in which they are divided into two competing teams.

The exercise programs at the Versus fitness facility are very safe. The trainers at the centre are there to provide guidance, and the Versus system itself watches the users' efforts and enforces safety. Those using weights, for instance, can only select weights that are suitable to their fitness level. Once they have acquired good technique, users can progress to heavier weights. If they try to skip a few steps and use heavier weights, the system refuses to count their reps until they have replaced the weights with those in the recommended range.

The Versus centre offers a free introductory session to familiarise potential customers with the concept and to let them see how they perform in a short 25-minute workout session of medium intensity.
