The American Diabetes Association is the leading non-profit charity organisation dedicated to fighting against diabetes, which affects almost 26 million adults and children across the United States, and threatens to affect an estimated 79 million of Americans who are diagnosed with prediabetes. The money raised by the ADA is used to fund innovative research to fight and prevent diabetes and its consequences.

Tour de Cure, ADA's largest annual fundraising event, is a series of rides organised across 44 states nationwide, that lets family, friends, and corporate teams recruit riders who raise money for riding. The routes are designed for experienced cyclists and casual riders alike.

In 2013, more than 65,000 cyclists participated in 89 events and raised over $26 million.
