The 6th annual mHealth Summit International Conference and Expo will be held in Washington, DC from December 7 to 11.

The 2014 mHealth Summit will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, DC from December 7 to 11. The annual conference will bring together experts in healthcare and technology, government officials, researchers, investors, industry professionals and advocates from the U.S. and abroad to discuss the use of mobile and connected health and its integration into the delivery of healthcare. The summit focuses on four basic platforms: technology, research, business and policy. Thought leaders will deliver keynotes, presentations and interactive sessions at the event to demonstrate the effect of mobile health on healthcare delivery.

The mHealth Summit will focus on disruptive innovation, trends, research, and opportunities that are currently creating a shift in healthcare, one turning wellness and health into an engaging part of consumers' lives, that can transform healthcare on both the personal and national level, reducing costs and improving outcomes for patients.

The speakers at the conference will address the challenges and innovations in mobile health and share real world strategies and success stories in wellness, fitness, patient engagement programs, disease management, and clinical trials. The summit will also feature topics related to public health, regulation, privacy and security, investment in startups, and hot technologies. Special sessions will cover topics including wearable technologies like Google Glass and Apple HealthKit in healthcare and the latest developments in gamification.

The Global mHealth Forum, a two-day co-located event, will be presented in partnership with the mHealth Working Group and USAID and focus on the use of mobile and connected health technologies in low and middle income countries.

The annual mHealth Summit is part of the recently formed Personal Connected Health Alliance, an international non-profit organisation founded by mHealth Summit, Continua and HIMSS to represent the voice of the consumer in personal connected health.
