IMM Holding presented innovative options for therapy and rehabilitation with the twall®PLUS reaction wall and MotionComposer at the Leipzig Trade Fair in Germany in March.

German electronics service provider IMM Holding GmbH has gained a stronger footing on the rehabilitation market with two pioneering devices designed to introduce new approaches to therapy. The company presented the two innovative solutions – the twall®PLUS and the MotionComposer – at the Leipzig Trade Fair and Congress for Therapy, Medical Rehabilitation and Prevention, held in Leipzig, Germany in March.

Launched at FIBO 2014, the twall®PLUS marked the company's entrance into the therapy arena, with features that offer a range of applications in rehabilitation, therapy and prevention programs. The reaction wall uses lights and colours to challenge users to improve their mobility, coordination and reaction time and to enhance the cooperation between the muscles, the central nervous system and the sensory organs.

The twall®PLUS uses interactive technologies to allow patients to train special movement sequences and offers a playful approach to therapy while simultaneously challenging patients' reaction time, perception and decision-making. The interactive reaction wall can be easily adapted to meet the needs of patients with different physical and mental impairments.

Training with the twall®PLUS activates multiple areas of the brain at the same time by combining movement tasks and exercises with tasks that challenge patients' visual and auditory perception. As a result, therapy programs using the device deliver better outcomes and improve patients' mobility.

The MotionComposer, developed by IMM in collaboration with the American dance company Palindrome Dance and the Italian InfoMus research institute, uses a highly unorthodox approach to therapy and allows disabled people to discover an entirely new way of interacting with their environment.

The innovative solution uses motion tracking to detect the patient's movements and uses the data to generate sounds, enabling people with severe physical and mental disabilities to express themselves through movement and music. By providing them with an enhanced sense of communication with their surroundings, the MotionComposer strengthens patients' confidence and helps them develop a better body image in addition to improving their focus, muscle coordination and movement control.
