Interactive Mirror Brings Play to Hospitals

Interactive Mirror Brings Play to Hospitals images: SNIBBE INTERACTIVE, LUKEGRAVES3D.COM

The Interactive Character Mirror created by Snibbe Interactive is designed to bring a real sense of play to any hospital waiting room.

Snibbe Interactive has posted a video of the company's Interactive Character Mirror, a product that delivers a unique experience, allowing children to become a cast of animated characters while they are waiting in hospitals and treatment centres.

The Interactive Mirror is an excellent choice for healthcare centres and facilities, as it is designed to add excitement to any waiting room and can turn a trip to the doctor into a fun interactive experience, one that kids can share with their friends using a social share system. The interactive system entertains kids and improves the overall patient/staff experience. It is touch-free, promotes movement, and reduces stress levels through active play.

The Interactive Mirror lets children enjoy themselves as they wiggle their legs and wave their arms and watch the animated characters – a space robot, a deep sea explorer, and a friendly bear among others – mimic their gestures and movements. The Character Mirror and other Snibbe Interactive products are used by a number of healthcare centres, including the UCLA Family Health Center, the Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin, Minnesota's Children Hospital, and the National Health Service in Liverpool in the UK.

Snibbe Interactive was founded by Scott Snibbe, a researcher, artist and entrepreneur, in 2007. The company's products were inspired by Snibbe's immersive media art, which has been on display at the MoMA, the Whitney and a number of other museums, and the company itself was created because the demand for his work had grown beyond the world of art. Today, Snibbe Interactive employs people on four continents and their products have been installed in over 30 countries.

The company is dedicated to developing emotionally resonant interactive products for use in a variety of settings, from museums and corporate buildings to retail stores and entertainment centres. Their work has been featured at the Beijing Olympics, at James Cameron's Avatar Exhibition, and a number of other events, trade shows, and interactive exhibits. The long list of the company's prominent clients includes Coca-Cola, Sony Corporation, Dell, Yahoo!, British Telecom, MGM Studios, and Proctor and Gamble.
