Fuel Up to Play 60 is offering up to $4,000 a year to K-12 schools enrolled in the program, to support the implementation of new wellness initiatives. To qualify for the competitive funding program, schools must be enrolled in Fuel Up to Play 60 for the 2014-2015 school year. They must have a registered Program Advisor – a coach of the school’s Fuel Up to Play 60 team who helps recruit other adults and students to join – and participate in the National School Lunch Program. They must also complete the School Wellness Investigation to collect information about their current nutrition and physical activity environment and identify opportunities for improvement. All applications must include Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Plans. Schools looking to apply can start by choosing one Physical Activity Play and one Healthy Eating Play from the 2014-2015 Playbook, available on the Fuel Up to Play 60 website.
